Egypt

Just a quick note. Don't let all of this "talk" about democracy coming to Egypt...fool you. 1. Egypt has been under a military dictatorship for 30+ years. Mubarak came from the military. He was governed by the military. With him gone (and he was already talking about leaving at the end of this year anyway) another dictator from the military will take over. Probably his VP. (who also comes from the military.) All this talk about freedom and the military taking over ...it a lot of BS. (balony sandwiches.)
2. However, that is not what the Muslim Brotherhood...aka ...Iranian sponsored Radical Islam want. They want to overthrow the moderate Islam government, that is pro-US and pro-Israel....and establish themselves as dictators...like what we see in Iran currently. That means the Muslim Brotherhood vs the Military. Hmmmmm ...right now the military wins. In several more months... who knows. The key is the people. If enough people can be convinced that heaven will come (gold and food will fall from the sky) if they put the Radical Islam people into power...then it will happen. It would be very bloody... but it could happen.
3. For now... not much is going to change.... despite all of the rhetoric.
4. Notice though... who Obama backed... not the Egyptian government... but the Iranian backed Radical Muslim groups.

I'm Tired of.... A great article for everyone to read

"I'm 63 and Im Tired"
by Robert A. Hall

I'm 63 Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.

I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes."  Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the left-wing Congress-critters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them with their own money.

I'm tired of being told how bad  America is by left-wing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood Entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities  America offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the economy of  Zimbabwe , the freedom of the press of  China , the crime and violence of  Mexico , the tolerance for Christian people of  Iran , and the freedom of speech of  Venezuela .

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.

I'm tired of being told that "race doesn't matter" in the post-racial world of Obama, when it's all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of U.S. Senators from Illinois.

I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln  wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less arrogantly of an all-knowing government.

I'm tired of a news media that thinks Bush's fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that think Obama's, at triple the cost, were wonderful; that thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress; that picked over every line of Bush's military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his; that slammed Palin, with two years as governor, for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever. Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News?  Get a clue. I didn't vote for Bush in 2000, but the media and Kerry drove me to his camp in 2004.

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America , while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in  Saudi Arabia  to teach love and tolerance.

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a  three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough.

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don't think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I damn sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I'm tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana.

I'm tired of illegal aliens being called "undocumented workers," especially the ones who aren't working, but are living on welfare or crime. What's next?  Calling drug dealers, "Undocumented Pharmacists"?  And, no,  I'm not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic, and it's been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion.  I'm willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person, who can speak English, doesn't have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military.... Those are the citizens we need.

I'm tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people than themselves. Do bad things happen in war?  You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave?  Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years and still are?  Not even close. So here's the deal. I'll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims, who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we'll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear.

I'm tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers; bums are bipartisan. And I'm tired of people telling me we need bipartisanship. I live in  Illinois , where the "Illinois Combine" of Democrats has worked to loot the public for years. Not to mention the tax cheats in Obama's cabinet.

I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

Speaking of poor, I'm tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn't have that in 1970, but we didn't know we were "poor." The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing.

I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems.

Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter.

Strange Earthquake Swarms...off of Yemen

Is the US using or testing their admitted earthquake causing system?

Notice in the list below... (for the last 3 days) how many of them are EXACTLY the same shallow depth.  hmmmm  very, very unusual...in fact, almost impossible.  unless they were man made...

there is strong evidence that the Haiti earthquake was manmade.  Interestingly, the same type of shallow earthquake swarm preceded the Haiti quake a couple of months before the big one.

OK...It was a Chinese Sub Fired Missile

All of the experts, not speaking on behalf of the government...all have declared it a sub fired missile, including the experts from Janes.

the only question is whose was it?  Evidence is strong that it was not the US.  immediately following the launch it has been revealed that the high military brass went into an immediate closed door meeting for a good part of the day.

It appears, and is likely that it was a Chinese sub firing a ballistic missile, in restricted US waters...during rush hour, to make a point.

Interestingly, 2 days later on the East Coast... another missile was photographed being launched at the same time (5pm).  Only, because this one was not video taped by a local news helicopter...it has been ignored.

SCARE PLANE? A missile-like streak appears in the sky yesterday to the west of the Rockaways, much like the still-unexplained mystery Monday off California.
SCARE PLANE? A missile-like streak appears in the sky yesterday to the west of the Rockaways, much like the still-unexplained mystery Monday off California.

And what point might that be?  The same point that they made when a couple of years ago a Chinese sub popped up in the middle of the USS Kitty Hawk fleet during war exercises  (next to the USS Kitty Hawk)...UNDETECTED...and basically stood on their deck and waggled their fingers in their ears and stuck out their tongues...and said Nah, Nah....

The point being that they, the Chinese, now have super silent subs that can obliterate any US aircraft carrier, and any US city with Nuclear weapons.  JUST AS THEY SAID THEY WERE PLANNING TO BE ABLE TO DO 5YEARS AGO.

Details of this have been discussed in the GRI newsletters, and more especially in the THE COMING WARS... part 2.

URGENT: SILVER & BANK OF AMERICA

YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS VIDEO.  It points out that Silver, which reached new levels last week... is poised to make another big run.  In fact, the article points out that massive silver trading is happening..in preparation for something.  Could it be that Bank of America is going to collapse?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGpi1gxtAOY&feature=player_embedded

Read this article excerpt as a follow up. Notice what Celente and others are saying:

THE SITUATION:

As the price of gold reaches new heights (over $1300 per ounce) and silver climbs to over $23 per ounce, the financial situation in America is dire, to say the least. Continuously rising rates of unemployment, increased government spending and the collapse of the real estate markets are all converging into one perfectly-directed/perfectly-designed collapse of, not only our economy, but the greater global economy as well. While major financial players such as Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan continue to have record profits, the middle class has disappeared from the American financial landscape. Major financial leaders such as Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke, have openly admitted that our country's financial system is in deep trouble and even Europe is having more banker bailouts. Meanwhile, the American media constantly hypes a possible terror attack in America and other countries in Europe.

If another major terror attack such as 9/11 occurs, trends forecaster Gerald Celente has stated that the event would bring the banking system to a complete halt, which would then result in a "bank holiday."
And Celente is not alone. For over a year, many others have warned of an upcoming bank holiday. With our economy already in free fall, it would not take much of a national and/or worldwide terror event to completely crash our (fiat) dollar-based system in a very short period of time. Upon the crash of the dollar, more bank holidays could be declared and oppressive emergency banking powers could go into effect (see: Emergency Banking Act of 1933). These include severely limiting consumer withdrawals and a recall of physical gold holdings. Taking Presidential Defense Directive #51 into account (PDD-51), even a major stock-market crash could trigger this scenario. And once PDD-51 is invoked, then martial law could be fully implemented.

POTENTIAL CYBER ATTACK COULD COLLAPSE US BANKING SYSTEM:

Another way the collapse of the banking system could lead to martial law is through cyber attacks.

This possibility has been particularly troubling to us, since, earlier this year, CNN aired a staged (i.e. fake) "cyber terror" attack complete with fake news reports being fielded by Michael Chertoff and other Washington insiders. Their premise was that the American power grid had been taken down by hacker/terrorists via cyber attack. Since the airing of that fake news program, alternative news agencies such as Infowars and others have made the point that such an attack is impossible for the average hacker, because the power grid is on a completely separate network from the Internet. In the meantime, threats against our power grid have been highlighted in other (suspect) ways, such as the Russians who were recently found trying to break into a Georgia power plant.

While the media continues to hype the threat of cyber terror against our power grid, others have looked into the perhaps more frightening prospect of a cyber attack on our banking system, which relies heavily upon computer networks as well as the Internet. Such an attack has already occurred both in America (over the July 4th holiday in 2009), as well as abroad (inSouth KoreaEstoniaIndia, and Canada). In fact, in February 2010, the American financial services industry actually participated in a cyber attack exercise to test the readiness of the financial system, so there's no way they can deny that they've actually considered the possibility of such an attack. If such an attack did occur, whole sections of the banking system would most likely go offline (as many believe happened to Bank of America earlier this year), or, worse, massive amounts of account data could be compromised, or lost altogether.

The possible result?

Imagine being unable to access your checking account, your 401K, or, even worse, having your bank balance go to zero and, in the resulting chaos, being left with no way to prove the amount that should be in your account. After all, these days, all your sensitive banking data is stored in computer databases and, in the midst of a "cyber crisis," many (or all) recent transactions could be lost (or the banks could claim such). In such a scenario, the only real proof of funds would be whatever cash a consumer happened to have on hand.

Many analysts such as Gerald Celente and Max Kaiser have been warning people about keeping their money in banks. As America's financial situation continues to deteriorate, a false-flag cyber attack would be a clever way to disguise the inevitable and blame the collapse on something (or someone) else. Also, with the nation's financial data compromised and/or missing altogether, it would conveniently force a "reset" of the banking system back to zero. Amidst the chaos of people trying to function with little-to-no cash while at the same time clamoring for a solution, the government could easily roll out a ration-card system much like the one Venezuela currently has, and/or a combination identification/debit card like Malaysia's.In addition, possible food and/or water riots could also create the perfect pretense for martial law.

In conclusion: A cyber attack that took out either the banking, or the power grid system would undoubtedly cause much turmoil. A cyber attack that took out both would be devastating. Either one would pave the road to martial law.

OUR RECOMMENDATION:

If you have money in a bank, consider getting it out. (Digital dollars are not durable, nor dependable!) Keeping enough cash as needed for survival is always wise, but consider putting all other assets into precious metals and/or necessary goods in order make the transition into the next new currency (whatever that might be). If you do not already have storable food, water and defensive weaponry, now would be a good time to acquire these items. Consider liquidating all paper assets including retirement accounts, stocks, bonds and mutual funds, since, at this point, it wouldn't take much to send the value of all these items to zero. Begin, if you have not already, to be more self-sustaining, whether through gardening, or bartering with other like-minded individuals, etc. Now is the time to introduce yourself to your neighbors before the power (and possibly other services) go out. Know who you can trust and who you can't.

WAS THIS AN EMP MISSILE TEST AGAINST LA/USA

an ICBM sea launched missile...35 miles off the coast.  If it wasn't ours...then whose was it?  Was Iran/North Korea practicing an EMP strike weapon for the US West Coast?

Hope not...because if it was...then a real EMP strike could only be days/weeks away...and then all hell would literally break out...and TEOTWAWKI would happen.

Mysterious missile lights up the sky over the Pacific

Pacific Ocean (CBS8)- A mysterious missile launch off the southern California coast was caught on video Monday evening by a KCBS news helicopter.

The spectacular contrail could easily be seen up in Los Angeles, but who launched this missile and why, remain a mystery for now.

The magnificent images were captured from the KCBS chopper around 5pm. The location of the missile was described as west of Los Angeles, north of Catalina Island, and approximately 35 miles out to sea.

A Navy spokesperson tells News 8, this wasn't its missile. He said there was no Navy activity reported in that part of the region.

On Friday, November 5, Vandenberg Air Force Base launched a Delta II rocket, carrying the Thales Alenia Space-Italia COSMO SkyMed satellite, but a sergeant at the base tells News 8, there have been no launches since then.

News 8 showed the video to Robert Ellsworth, former U.S. Ambassador to NATO and a former Deputy Secretary of Defense.

He said it didn't appear to be a Tomahawk missile and said it would be safest to wait for definitive answers to come from the military.

Based on pure speculation, however, Ambassador Ellsworth said, with President Obama in Asia, perhaps this could have been a show of our military muscle.

"It could be a test firing of an intercontinental ballistic missile from a submarine underwater submarine, to demonstrate mainly to Asia, that we can do that," he said, stressing that it was just a theory.

Protests Continue--Gay activists deliver petition to Mormon church

Gay activists deliver petition to Mormon church
October 12th, 2010 @ 6:04pm
By ksl.com

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- National gay rights activists on Tuesday delivered a petition letter carrying 150,000 signatures to the Mormon church following an address given by President Boyd K. Packer, a Church Apostle.

The Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest gay civil rights organization, collected the signatures after an e-mail alert to members and supporters -- 20 percent of whom are not lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. The response to the alert is the largest in HRC history.

The petition letter and signatures were delivered in an 800-page stack to the church's downtown Salt Lake City office building by HRC President Joe Solmonese and leaders from Utah's gay community and a gay Mormon support group.

Petition follows General Authority's remarks

President Packer, 86, is president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is the second-highest ranking Mormon church leader and the next in line for the presidency of the 13.5 million-member faith.

"The danger with the statements (Packer) made is that they will be believed as revealed truth and then used by some to rationalize discrimination or violence." -HRC President Joe Solmonese

President Packer's Oct. 3 remarks came during the fall installment of the church's twice-yearly general conference.

During his speech about same-sex attraction -- which he said was unnatural and with enough faith can be overcome -- he also reiterated the faith's opposition to same-sex marriage.

Advocates say they felt a moral obligation to speak out against President Packer's speech.

"They have their right their religious views and to speak out on those views, but we have a an obligation and a right to offer an alternative point of view, one that is based in science," said Solmonese.

However, therapists report same-sex attraction is not a mental disorder.

"Currently, there are no clear findings -- scientific or otherwise -- that support sexual orientation as being determined by any one particular factor or set of factors," said Utah psychologist Kirk Dansie.

The activist groups also held a news conference at the Gay Pride Center Tuesday morning. It began with the reminder that the day marks the anniversary of Matthew Shepherd's murder in Wyoming because he was gay.

LDS Church condemns bullying of gay community
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Tuesday called for the condemnation of bullying and cruelty of the gay community and others who may be viewed as different.

"For each gay and lesbian child, for every child who's a little bit smaller, a little bit weaker, we speak out and we proclaim that enough is enough. The bullying must stop now," said David Melson, president of the group Affirmation.

Group seeks to change hurtful rhetoric

Solmonese says his group not out to change the Church's doctrine, just some of the rhetoric the group claims is hurtful to young people struggling with who they are. They also say it's dangerous because it can encourage intolerance and bullies.

"The danger with the statements [President Packer] made is that they will be believed as revealed truth and then used by some to rationalize discrimination or violence," Solmonese said.

Local gay rights groups say they are most concerned about young people who have lost acceptance in their families and are homeless.

"Today in Utah, 40 percent of these youth identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender," said Melissa Bird, a Utah clinical social worker. "This number has been steadily rising in the last seven years. These are our children."

Church shares desire with groups to end intolerance

LDS Church representative Michael Otterson said despite fundamental disagreements, the two sides share a desire to end tragic deaths caused by bullying. [CLICK HERE to read the entire article on the Church's statement]

"We join our voice with others in unreserved condemnation of acts of cruelty, or attempts to belittle or mock any group or individual that is different," Otterson read from a Church statement.

Church leaders urged Latter-day Saints to base their attitudes on Jesus Christ's commandment to love one another.

"The Church recognizes that those of its members who are attracted to others of the same sex experience deep emotional, social and physical feelings," the statement reads. "The Church distinguishes between feelings or inclinations on the one hand, and behavior on the other. It's not a sin to have feelings."

Church leaders and representatives from Utah's gay community have also worked together, it was noted, to create ordinances against discrimination in many areas; Otterson said though the Church opposes same-sex marriage, leaders have openly supported protections for same-sex couples in housing and employment.

"We hope and firmly believe that within this community, and in others, kindness, persuasion and goodwill can prevail," the statement concludes.

State snatches baby when dad accused of being 'Oath Keeper'

The next step is for them to say... we are taking your child/children because you are associated with that homophobic, anti-communist (and therefore anti-Obama) group...the Mormons...or the Baptists...or Tea Party...or NRA...or.

The oath keepers are primarily ex-military (but includes active military as well)  who have expressed the commitment to keep their oath that they took...to defend the U.S. Constitution.  It is not a militia...but is simply a pro-constitutional group.

State snatches baby when dad accused of being 'Oath Keeper'
'You could be on 'the list' and then child protective services might come'

A 16-hour-old newborn was snatched from her parents by authorities in Concord, N.H., after social services workers alleged the father is a member of Oath Keepers.

The organization collects affirmations from soldiers and peace officers that they would refuse orders that violate the U.S. Constitution, in light of what they perceive as the advance of socialism in the U.S.

The father, Johnathon Irish, told WND that the affidavit signed by Child Protective Service worker Dana Bicford seeking government custody of newborn Cheyenne said the agency "became aware and confirmed that Mr. Irish associated with a militia known as the 'Oath Keepers.'"

Irish, in an interview with WND, said officers and other social services workers ordered him to stand with his hands behind his back, frisked him and then took his daughter from him and his fiancé at Concord Hospital where the baby had been born.

He told WND that other issues cited by authorities included an allegation of child abuse, which he assumed pertained to an incident weeks earlier in which one of his fiance's older sons allegedly was struck by a babysitter.

He said both he and his fiancé had been cleared by authorities in that investigation.

Kathleen Demaris, a spokeswoman for the state agency, refused to comment.

Stewart Rhodes, the founder of Oath Keepers, expressed alarm when contacted by WND, describing the agency as a "chilling monster" that could "come get kids."

On his website, he confirmed the affidavit, along with other allegations, cites Irish's interest in Oath Keepers as a reason to separate the newborn from her parents.

"...It is utterly unconstitutional for government agencies to list Mr. Irish's association with Oath Keepers in an affidavit in support of a child abuse order to remove his daughter from his custody," Rhodes said.

"Talk about chilling speech! If this is allowed to continue, it will chill the speech of not just Mr. Irish, but all Oath Keepers and it will serve as the camel [nose] under the tent for other associations being considered too risky for parents to dare," he continued. "'Don't you dare associate with such and such group, or you could be on 'the list' and then child protective services might come take your kids.'"

He noted that the state made no allegation that Oath Keepers is "criminal" or that Irish was committing a crime with his affiliation.

Oath Keepers posted a video by George Heminger, who identifies himself as an independent journalist, who was interviewing Irish by telephone:

Soaring prices threaten new food crisis

By Gregory Meyer in New York and Javier Blas in London

Fears of a global food crisis swept the world’s commodity markets as prices for staples such as corn, rice and wheat spiralled after the US government warned of “dramatically” lower supplies.

An especially hot summer in the US, droughts in countries including Russia and Brazil and heavy rain in Canada and Europe have hit many grain and oilseed crops this year. This has raising concern of a severe squeeze in food supplies and a repeat of the 2007-08 food crisis.

The US Department of Agriculture, in a closely watched report, predicted that the country’s stocks of corn would halve to their lowest levels in 14 years.

It warned of a “much tighter supply picture” for corn and barley, the two main feedstocks used to fatten cows, sheep, pigs and poultry.

Shares in some of the world’s biggest meat packers tumbled. US-listed Tyson Foods fell 7.7 per cent. Shares in other food producers also declined.

“I think we have a food crisis right now,” said Hussein Allidina, head of commodities research at Morgan Stanley.

In Chicago, the prices of agricultural commodities jumped so sharply that they hit limits imposed on daily movement by the city’s futures exchange, the biggest in the world.

Traders, unable to use futures contracts because of the limits on trading, bid indicative corn prices to $5.65 a bushel in the options market, a rise of 13.3 per cent on the day.

In Paris, European wheat prices rose 10 per cent, while the cost of other commodities including soyabeans, sugar, cotton, barley and oats soared.

The rise in prices sent the Reuters-Jefferies CRB commodities index to a two-year high.

The USDA shocked traders by forecasting in its monthly report that the country’s corn farmers would harvest about 12.7bn bushels in the 2010-11 crop year that started in September. This is down 4 per cent from the USDA’s previous estimate.

The drop would slash the country’s stocks to 900m bushels, the lowest level since 1996-97. The USDA also cut wheat and soya production estimates.

“This revision highlights that we are in a very fragile supply and demand situation,” said Abdolreza Abbassian, senior economist at the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation in Rome.

The US is the world’s largest corn grower and its exports make up the majority of global trade in the grain. The USDA had earlier forecast a record corn crop this year but a combination of unfavourable heat and heavy rains forced a re-evaluation of yields.

The fall in supplies has prompted countries such as Russia and Ukraine to impose export restrictions on grains.

Big importers in the Middle East and North Africa have started to hoard supplies, which has further tightened the market.
